“Passion makes every detail important “
G.K Chesterton

3DGeoLab is the result of more than 20 years of research and innovation in geomatics carried out by the Geomatic research group active at the University of Brescia (ITALY) and led by Prof. Giorgio Vassena.

The group has realised the first Italian experience of GNSS Virtual Reference Station Network,  and has been focused on structures and infrastructures monitoring, such as the most important Italian stadiums and skyscrapers in Italy.

3DGeoLab have been involved in sites of great cultural interest as the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the mapping of Venice, the survey activities at the Sacre Sepulcrum in Jerusalem and at Historical sites in Holy Land, or at ancient churches in Ethiopia.

Innovative approaches have been developed for the measurement and adjustment of topographic networks of large infrastructures, as railway line and highway have been developed.

3DGeoLab has been deeply working in research projects on innovative technologies applied to the study of mountain and glacier environments, in the Alps, Himalayan, African and Antarctic regions.

In recent years the research topics of 3DGeoLab have been focused on the digital transition applied to the construction and Digital Twin field, developing solutions and innovative approaches to mobile and static laser scanning mapping approach, and with UAV and photogrammetric approach.

3DGeoLab team is involved in National and International research projects, as in a daily activity of Education towards our Italian and International engineering students of our Faculty.
